Create, Solve, and Innovate Lab (CSI) Courtesy of ESU 11 and Area Businesses/Donors The last two weeks we've had the annual ESU #11 CSI Lab and students have been having a great time creating, innovating, and problem-solving things w/ technology on the 9+ different stations as described below. Here's some photos from while it was here! 1. 3D Prototyping (1) – Use a 3D printer to make objects 2. 3D Prototyping (2) – Use a 3D printer to make objects 3. 3Doodler 3D Printing Pen Sets – Bring ideas to life in 3D using pens. 4. Electronics – Conduct electronics experiments culminating in a 2-wheeled robot 5. Pneumatics – Use air to make machines do the work (also applies to hydraulics) 6. Internet of Things – Make a Smart home that you can run from an Echo Dot or phone. 7. Graphic Design – Tell a story using the Cricut Explore Air 2 cutter 8. Virtual Reality – Tell a story in 3D using a 360-degree camera and view the story or have other unique experiences using the Oculus Meta Quest 2 headsets 9. Sphero RVR+ programmable robots (Total of 4) – Learn coding skills and computer science basics to program a robot.

We concluded our Dewey Decimal Classification System unit today. Fifth graders worked in teams as we played Jeopardy to test students' knowledge of where books belong in the library. Some questions were tougher than others, but it was fun to see students work together!

Here are some more photos from the Oral Round of the Furnas County Spelling Bee yesterday! Arapahoe hosted the Furnas County Spelling Bee yesterday. It was a great day of strong competition! Arapahoe's competitors included: Meg Hilker, Amelia Blickenstaff, Elizabeth Magorian, Alaina Leising, Zach Einspahr, Romalie Williamson, Lilly Helms (not pictured: Elena Lee, Cydney Carlson, and Bryce Melhus) The Arapahoe students performed well and several earned medals!
